What is DishSMRT KIT?
DishSMRT KIT is an accessory for existing subscribers of DishTV. It provides access to a world of OTT apps such as ZEE5, ALT Balaji, Sony Liv, Hungama Play, Watcho and a huge library of curated online videos, Catch-Up shows, and Web-series. Apart from that it enables Alexa features on the set-top box.
What is the price of DishSMRT KIT?
The KIT is priced at an introductory offer of Rs. 1199/-. It consists of a voice-remote and one Wi-Fi & Bluetooth dongle.
What about price of OTT apps?
You will have to additionally subscribe for OTT apps or DTH packages. You can also select from the proposed bundled offers.
Is there any price of using Alexa service?
Alexa built-in is a free service, there is no charge to use that. Your DishTV connection should be active to make use of all features available.
Are there any monthly charges?
AppZone access fee is Rs. 49/- (GST extra). Under launch offer the access fee is not charged for first three months. From 4th month onwards the monthly access fee will be charged.

Can I use the Dish SMRT KIT with other devices?
No. It can only be used with D-7000-HD box.
Is SMRT KIT available in all cities where DishTV services are present?
No. Currently Dish SMRT KIT is available only in select cities and Pincodes.
What is the warranty on the Dish SMRT KIT?
There is a 6 months warranty for the Dish SMRT KIT, and for any failure of remote or dongle, it will be replaced. Dish SMRT KIT is not covered as a part of the STB warranty issued by Dish TV.
What happens after the warranty period is over?
After the warranty period in case of any issues, the customer will have to pay for the remote or dongle whichever needs a replacement.
What is Alexa?
Alexa is Amazon’s cloud-based voice service. It is similar to a smart voice assistant to whom you can speak with on a daily basis.
How can I use Alexa on my set-top box?
Press and Hold “Mic” key on your new voice-remote and say what you want to ask Alexa.
How to enable Alexa Skills?
Skills that you want to use can be configured according to your needs using Alexa mobile app
- Get Alexa App from Google Playstore (Android mobile) or Appstore (iPhone)
- Enter the same Amazon account login details in the app as used earlier during registration.
- On successful login, Alexa App home screen will open, now search for skills and enable them

DishSMRT KIT has an inbuilt Wi-Fi receiver, so you can easily connect to your Home Wi-Fi network or mobile hotspot.
What is the minimum Internet speed required for this?
Recommended Internet speed is 4Mbps and above. Please note that to watch 4K content higher speeds may be required.
If I don’t use Internet, then can I use this as a simple STB if need be?
Yes you can use it as a simple set-top box, but for better experience it is recommended to use it with internet connection.
What features will be unavailable if I don’t have Internet connection?
Features like Voice-commands to Alexa, AppZone and OTT services that require internet connectivity will be unavailable in absence of Internet connectivity.
How can I check for Set-Top-Box Software updates?
It will be upgraded automatically after reboot/during standby.

Sometimes my set-top box responds very slowly. How to fix this problem?
Power off-on the STB. If this does not work, factory reset.
