What is DishTV?
DishTV is India's First and Asia's Largest Direct-to-Home Digital Entertainment Service provider that brings over 700+ channels and services along with advanced value added services to your TV set.
How does DishTV work?
DishTV works through a set-top box (STB) and dish antenna which is installed at your home. The antenna is connected to the STB through a cable which is linked to the TV set. The STB decodes the signal from the antenna and brings your favourite channels to your TV screen.
How is it better than the existing cable system?
Besides giving you the experience of a new technology, DishTV offers you an option of complete freedom from the cable guy. Going the Direct-to-Home way has innumerable advantages that change the way you watch TV forever.

I already have cable TV. Can I also get DishTV to work on my TV set?
No Problem! DishTV is digital and direct, that means when you choose to install DishTV, you need not disturb your cable connection, just install your own Dish, simply connect the set-top box to your existing TV, insert your personal unique Viewing Card and you are ready to go!

Infact, you can watch television without disturbing your existing cable connection in normal TV mode and DishTV in AV mode, by choosing the AV option from the remote of your TV set. That means both the inputs can be used simultaneously.
Where can I see a DishTV Demo?
You can experience the new and exciting world of DishTV through any DishTV authorized dealer. Most of the consumer durable outlets near you, are authorized DishTV dealers. You can also visit the Dealer Locator section of our website to locate a dealer near you.
Is DishTV available all over India?

What is the warranty period?
Twelve months for the set-top box. Normally nothing goes wrong in the Dish and the LNB. However, your dealer shall give you free support after installation for 60 days.

When you book a DishTV connection you get the following Hardware/Equipment:
  • Dish with LNB
  • Set-top box and cable
  • Viewing Card (VC)

The set-top box with the VC will be installed in your home, connected to your TV. The Dish will be fixed outside on a Roof/Terrace/Veranda/Lawn- wherever it can face the direction of the satellite without any disruption/blockage in between. The installation is done by our experts.
What would I need to buy?

Where would the dish be installed?
Ideally it should be installed on the roof of your building, veranda, terrace, or anywhere you can have a clear view of the sky, as it need to catch satellite signals.
I have more than one TV set at my home. Will the dish service all of them?
Yes, we have multi TV connection with the help of which you can watch DishTV on all your TVs.

What is 2nd DishTV connection?
If you have multiple TVs at home, then you can get your 2nd, 3rd & 4thDishTV connection at a discounted monthly subscription as per below table:

What are the benefits of 2nd DishTV connection?

Following are the benefits of 2nd DishTV connection:-

A) One common dish for multiple TV connections

B) Same pack as the 1st connection. All the connections should have the same pack

C) Choose any pack from existing packs

D) Discounted monthly subscription for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th connection

E) More choice-select any existing entry offer for your Multi TV connections


ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: You can avail a maximum of 3 connections (and 1 parent connection) in the same house

If I am a deactivated subscriber, can I take a 2nd DishTV connection?
If you are a de-active subscriber, you will have to first activate the connection & then you can take the 2nd, 3rd & 4th connection.
Can I take Add-on Pack(s) with my 2nd DishTV connection?
You need not to take any add-on separately for child connection. Whatever add-on is running on parent connection will automatically be copied in child connection
If I re-locate, how will my 2nd DishTV connection get transferred to the new address and what will be the procedure involved?
When you re-locate, you need to follow the following steps:-
  • Call the customer care and inform about the address change.
  • You need to inform the customer care executive, if you wish to continue with your 2nd DishTV connection, or want to convert this into individual connection.
Why have you increased the price (pack without content addition)?
Due to increase in the input cost, pack price of your subscribed pack has slightly increased.

Due to increase in the input cost, pack price of your subscribed pack has slightly increased. Also to ensure that you get maximum entertainment and to cater wider range of entertainment needs at a more value for money price point, we have added few channels.
Why is my pack price expensive as compared to other DTH players?
If you compare Dishtv packs with equivalent competition packs, you will realize that across the industry pack prices generally fall in the same price range. For eg. if you compare our North entry level pack- Super Family with those of other DTH operators, you can see that all competition packs are priced in the range of Rs299 to 350. Also DishTV gives 319+ channels & services with Super Family at a monthly price of Rs.253* i.e. effectively Rs.1 per channel per month.
Are Analog Cable prices cheaper than DishTV?
If you compare cable with DishTV, on one hand, there is the Direct-to-home (DTH) service ensuring Digital picture and Superior sound quality, combined with uninterrupted viewing giving you the power to choose the channels you want and even offering interactive services such as movie-on-demand, All this with professional customer service. On the other hand, there is Analog Cable with poor reception and channels you never want but have to pay for. Analog Cable prices may seem to be cheaper than DishTV prices, but that is only because Analog Cable does not give you everything required for a wholesome TV viewing experience, which DishTV gives.
Are Digital Cable prices cheaper than DishTV?
DishTV gives you unmatched technology which is 100% noise free. Teamed with the recorder facility, the advanced Electronic Program Guide (EPG), Value Added Services (VAS) and Movie on Demand, DishTV has clear edge over digital cable. Not just this, you also get 24x7 Customer service, Relocation facility, Regional channel packs for dislocated subscribers, and No Intermediary Power failure. It may seem that Digital cable is cheaper than DishTV in terms of the monthly pack price, but that is only because digital cable does not give you any of the above mentioned facilities.

How will I know about new channels introduced?
We inform all our subscribers regularly about the newly introduced channels, you can find out all the information from our website, Buzz (dish interactive channel No. 999) and by calling our call center numbers: 1860-258-3474.
My TV set has only limited number of channels, how can I view more number of channels that DishTV offers?
The set-top box provided by DishTV enables a large number of channels to be viewed irrespective of the number of channels supported by your TV set. Set-top box supports more than 700+ channels and services. You can recharge your account by the following methods:

  • Directly through your dealer through cheque at the time of installation
  • Through Credit Card on this site
  • Through ITZ Cash Card, a prepaid card
  • Through cash or cheque deposit
  • Through Electronic Clearance Scheme
  • Cash to dealer
  • Pay Order/Demand Draft/At Par Cheque
Do I need to pay any charges in case I recharge the connection after deactivation of the same?
You will not be charged any extra amount if you recharge within 3 days after your due date when your account is deactivated because of non-payment of the subscription fee. After 3 days, you will have to pay a nominal amount of Rs. 25/- as Fee to cover CAS, middleware and other administrative costs incurred toward maintaining your account when it is deactivated.
Can I get my connection temporarily suspended if I need to go for a vacation or for any other reasons?
Yes! Dish TV provides the privilege of temporarily suspending your account and that too, free of cost. However, you can deactivate your account only for a minimum of 3 days or more. To avail this facility Please call our customer care at 1860-258-3474.
Can I recharge my DishTV account through an SMS ?
Yes, you may recharge your DishTV account through an SMS if you are an ICICI Bank account holder.
How will I carry my DishTV if I am shifting my home or getting transferred to another city/town?

Is there anything that disrupts reception quality? For example, heavy rains?
A few minutes of outage might occur in extreme weather conditions like heavy rains or when the sun comes in the line of the satellite and earth. This phenomenon is called RAIN OUTAGE/SUN OUTAGE and occurs in DTH platforms across the world. This is typically for one or two minutes in a year, outage gets corrected by itself as it is automatically detected.

What is a Viewing Card?
A Viewing Card is a credit card sized Smart Card, which contains information about the channels that the customer has subscribed to. When inserted in the set-top box it enables viewing of the channels chosen by the subscriber. You must take care of this card and note down its unique VC Number in a safe place and mention it in your every communication with us.
I have lost/damaged my Viewing Card. How can I get a new one?
You will get new card from dealer by paying Rs. 300/- again while the deposit of the lost/damaged VC is forfeited.
What is Universal Remote?
Introducing the DishTV Universal Remote. A versatile and hassle-free remote for both your Set-Top-Box and TV. Offered in a sleek, matte finish texture. The remote is preconfigured for all Samsung TVs, and works with TVs of all other brands too. Now, that's easy entertainment.

How to synchronize universal remote with your TV?
Press the OK and 0 keys together on the DishTV Universal Remote until the TV mode LED turns red: this shows that the remote is ready to learn.
Place the DishTV Universal Remote on a flat surface. Take your TV remote and place it in front of the Universal Remote so that their LED lights face each other directly. The distance between the remotes should be 5cm.
To program the Universal Remote's TV power button, press the TV power key on the Universal Remote. The red TV Mode LED on the DishTV Remote will blink once to confirm that you can proceed.
Press the power key on the TV remote. The red TV Mode LED on the Universal Remote will blink twice to confirm that it has learned the command.
You can follow the same process for VOL UP/DOWN. MUTE, SOURCE & Navigation(UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT/OK).
To save the learned commands, press the TV power key on the Universal Remote until the red TV Mode LED blinks thrice.
